DAPHNE & NEILs

Daphne & Neil’s late-summer wedding weekend in Kennewick, Washington unfolded with quiet elegance and deep meaning on September 6, 2025. I was truly honored to document not just a single day, but an intentionally curated two-day celebration of their love. Spreading their wedding across the weekend allowed space for unhurried moments — a private first look paired with timeless bridal portraits, an evening reception filled with joy and connection, and a sacred temple ceremony shared with worthy family members. Every moment felt purposeful, intimate, and beautifully reverent, creating a wedding experience rooted in faith, love, and legacy.

A FIRST LOOK

A month before they were set to be married, I met Daphne & Neil at the Union Library Park in Kennewick where we were graced with the most stunning rose garden in town. Neil met me first in preparation for seeing his future bride dressed in white for the first time. When they saw each other in that moment it was like watching two people fall completely in love all over again. Having a private first look with each other before all the hustle and bustle of a wedding day is so relaxing and leaves time for special moments and unrushed connection. This also allowed for some extended time for couples portraits in addition to the photos they received on their wedding day.

BACKYARD RECEPTION
We kicked off the wedding festivities on Friday, September 5, 2025 with a thoughtfully styled backyard celebration that felt both intimate and warmly welcoming. The impeccably kept grounds were transformed into a candle-lit oasis, complete with a glowing poolside ambiance and a tucked-away arborvitae garden that added a sense of quiet romance to the evening. The atmosphere all night was bright, joyful, and full of life which perfectly complemented the vibrant florals and playful pops of color woven throughout the yard.
Daphne & Neil radiate a kind of love that feels genuinely sweet and deeply joyful. Their easy affection for one another and their constant smiles set the tone for the entire reception. Every little detail felt like a reflection of who they are—warm, fun-loving, and endlessly considerate—from the charming donut wall to the nostalgic frozen yogurt machine that kept guests going back for refills all night long. The evening unfolded exactly as they are, full of laughter, heartfelt moments, and a dance floor that stayed alive well into the night.
A DIVINE TEMPLE CEREMONY
There are wedding days that feel simply beautiful, and then there are wedding days that feel divinely timed. Their private sealing ceremony at the Columbia River Washington Temple happened to be both of those. Day two of their festive weekend took place on a beautiful, overcast late-summer afternoon. As guests arrived, rain poured steadily across umbrellas and head covered suit coats throughout the temple grounds, creating a quiet, anticipatory atmosphere. While we all waited outside, Daphne and Neil were inside as they were sealed in a private religious ceremony surrounded by peace and reverence. And in a moment that none of us will forget, the rain stopped just as they stepped outside as husband and wife for the first time. The skies cleared right at the perfect time, leaving behind soft light and fresh, rain-kissed grounds just in time for portraits. The overcast sky gave us the most flattering, even light for photos, and the temple grounds felt calm and renewed after the storm.

After family photos, we took some quiet time for just the two of them. On the peaceful grounds of the temple, we created portraits that felt joyful, intimate, and serene—capturing both the excitement of the day and the stillness of that first hour as newlyweds. What began as a stormy afternoon transformed into one of the most peaceful and radiant portrait sessions. It was the perfect reminder that even when wedding days don’t start exactly as imagined, they so often unfold into something even more meaningful.
